Welcome to Beechwood B and B that is run by myself,Carol a trained nurse and my partner, Ceri a music teacher and musician. We have lived here for 25 years, and it has been a B and B since 2006. The children all left for University and this was an opportunity for me to give up my nursing career and run a B and B. I had researched this for two years before we opened, staying at B and B’s up and down the country to find out the positives and negatives of such a venture. We set up the B and B at the top end of the market and we were lucky in 2006 to be awarded Five Star by Visit Britain, as they were called then. Although competition was fierce I did my research and knew there was a gap in the market for luxury accommodation. We are fortunate to have Glyndebourne Opera House just 9 minutes away from us and that keeps a constant supply of summer guests, along with weddings and visitors to the South East. We are very close to historic town of Lewes, with Eastbourne, Brighton and Gatwick Airport all within 30 minutes drive. In East Sussex we have a vast array of National Trusts and Castles. We welcome guests from all over the world and are happy to advise on places of interest to visit.
After two years we managed to obtain the Breakfast Award from Visit England and AA and also obtained a Gold Accolade which puts us in the top 10% of places to stay in the country. We also have an Gold Accolade from Green Tourism recognising us for outstanding sustainability.
Ceri is a well-respected musician and teacher who will serenade you when he is at home or play classical or pop music on the piano at your request. Thanks to school term times, he is available to assist at Beechwood during our busiest times. My nursing skills come in very handy too. I have made beds all of my life – but, I’m now making posh beds for your enjoyment.
We are directly on the A22 in Halland but step into Beechwood and be assured by the peace and tranquility that we offer here. The rooms are furnished with great care and attention to detail and with maximum comfort the chief objective. We also have a large garden where you can relax in total peace and enjoy the sounds of our birds. Our extensive breakfast menu is served in our large conservatory, which overlooks the garden.
