Autumn/winter at the South Downs National Park 2017

Despite the nights drawing in and the colder weather arriving, autumn and winter are still great times to explore the South Downs National Park. It has over 3,000km of right of way by foot, cycling or on horseback. The woods are turning red and orange now making amazing scenery. Remember to have your camera at the ready to take the stunning views and wildlife that you will encounter on route. Autumn and Winter are also the best times to enjoy stargazing, and in February they will be holding their Dark Skies Festival.

The South Downs have rolling green hills, ancient woodland- lowland heaths and the world-famous Seven Sisters white cliffs. There  are also many market towns  like Lewes to visit.

The South Downs Way is approx one hour by train from London to Lewes and bus ride or car to begin your journey through the National Park.
